Brothers, we are to ever caution and whisper good counsel in the
ear of a Brother, and in the most friendly remind him of his errors. We are
to discuss 'Truth', and 'Truth' is what we can best agree on, if we cannot
agree it is not Truth, or open to disputation, and to discern Truth in
politics usually depends on our political convictions which vary from person
to person. If we don't discuss politics, we can certainly find other things
to discuss, philosophy and morals, discuss concepts such as what is 'good'
or 'virtuous'. I think especially this year we should leave politics outside
the Lodge door, for this is going to be a particularly divisive election and
we may not be on the same page.
We lost a person on the list because of it. I went to a California
Lodge in Ocean Beach several years ago and they had a discussion group on
politics and related topics with the caveat that if at any time and in any
way, any Brother present felt offended or could not agree on where the
discussion was leading, they would end it. If that was to be the case here,
I think Brother Don ended it....

Just my opinion..But I had to say it....
