    The Grand Lecturer, Elwin Brown, underwtent surgery Monday and Betty,
    his wife, has given this office the following update.

    She states that the surgery lasted approximately 7.5 hours. They
    removed part of his bowel, some of his back muscle and the tumor. The
    surgeon did
    not have to remove any other organs as originally thought might
    happen. They implanted the tubes for radiation which is scheduled to
    start next Monday. His expected stay in the hospital is 7 - 10 days.
